Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

The successful candidate for the ORC In Governing Artificial Intelligence will have a relevant PhD by the date of the appointment in one of the Social Sciences or Professions, for example, but not limited to: Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or Sociology. They will have a robust, established, ongoing research program that engages with the issues surrounding the governance of Artificial Intelligence and which aims to contribute to the development of robust, comprehensive policy frameworks for the governance of A.I. and Big Data in order to enable the benefits of A.I. while mitigating the risks of Big Data. The candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence or promise of excellence in research and teaching.

The successful candidate for the ORC in Digital Governance for Social Justice will have a relevant PhD by the date of appointment in one or more of the Social Sciences or Professions (for example, but not limited to: Communication/Media, Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Sociology) They will have a robust, established, ongoing research program in technology and governance which contributes to understanding how regulation can promote social justice, particularly the inclusion of the most marginalized and disadvantaged, through technological change. The candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence or promise of excellence in research and teaching.
