Why Variance for Age is so high, 197.25

I thought the scaler.var_ is equivalent to standard deviation, but 197.25 does not seem to be the standard deviation, shouldn’t it be something like 14 for standard deviation if the age range is 18-65?

I think you’re looking at the variance. The standard deviation is the square root of the variance (= sqrt(197.25) = 14.0). The standard deviation has the same units of the quantity you are looking at, whereas the unit of variance is the square of the quantity you are analysing.

Appreciate it, that make sense…
